The VP, Strategic Planning and Development will contribute to the identification, analysis, and pursuit of strategic business opportunities, supporting the development of a strategy for a connected platform focused on patient monitoring, coaching and education.  Strategic options that must be assessed include but are not limited to, acquisitions, divestitures, alliances, minority investments and licensing agreements. This individual will play a significant role in the strategic planning process, focusing on significant revenue growth via new service and chronic care initiatives that leverage CCS’ capabilities and brand.


Success in this role will require effective collaboration with the executive leadership team, key business functions as well as external stakeholders and partners.


This role is vital to the long-term success of CCS and is a highly compelling opportunity for a successful deal maker and strategic executive with deep knowledge and networks within the healthcare industry.


The successful candidate will be a key member of CCS’ leadership team and report directly to the Chief Development officer.  The position location is flexible, but the placement must be willing to travel frequently.

  • Execute strategic initiatives in support of the strategic plan.
  • Conduct external landscape reviews, scenario analysis and thoughtfully explore market dynamics.
  • Maintain industry-wide perspective on major trends, including macro-economic, customer, regulatory, technology, service, distribution channel, product and competitive trends; identify and communicate implications for CCS.
  • Analyze the universe of prospective companies to identify potential acquisition and partnership transactions through industry-wide networking, as aligned to the strategic plan and innovation agenda.
  • Lead aspects of the corporate development process across the company, including the sourcing, valuing, structuring and negotiating of transactions ranging from licensing arrangements and equity investments to outright acquisitions, in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Establish cost estimates for acquisition targets, including the P&L impact of acquisitions.
  • Partner with EPMO leader and business unit owners to ensure a company-wide portfolio of innovation and growth initiatives stays on track and delivers against objectives.
  • Manage relationships with business partners, alliances, collaborators, licensors and other external parties of strategic importance

  • Develop archetype of strategic relationships and profile the organizations within each archetype to identify value-maximizing opportunities for CCS shareholders.
  • Develop new business strategies with Payors and Manufacturers to expand the adoption of CCS service and supply offerings.
  • Execute strategies to extend the CCS Health care management solutions direct to consumers of CCS Medical products and supplies.


The successful candidate will have corporate strategy, business development and healthcare experience. The placement will also be a strong strategic thinker, able to assess complex market structures, service lines, and formulate plans to capitalize upon market conditions and trends.




5-10 years of experience in healthcare corporate strategy

Prior experience working in corporate strategy, business/corporate development for a company within a medical services organization.


Track record of developing data driven strategies

Demonstrated ability to develop fact-based, data-driven market analysis to serve as the underpinnings of the company’s strategic plan, as well as develop proactive strategies that anticipate and respond to the changing healthcare landscape.


Mergers & Acquisitions

Extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions, including strategic fit assessment, financial evaluations, due diligence, negotiations and closings.



An M.B.A. or degree in business, accounting or related quantitative field, and proficiency with advanced decision support analytical tools.
