  • Overview

    Assists with all incoming and outgoing mailroom functions, including but not limited to the daily deposit process

    Responsibilities

    • Facilitates in the processing of incoming and outgoing mail 
    • Sorts, analyzes and scans company mail into the appropriate document category 
    • Performs document validation and links document images to patient medical records
    • Performs document reconciliation using corresponding work queues
    • Combines claim paperwork to be mailed out to insurance companies for reimbursement
    • Prepares incoming patient and insurance checks for daily bank deposits
    • Assists in the distribution of inter-office mail and incoming packages, accepts deliveries such as office supplies and assists in storage and/or delivering to the appropriate department 
    • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality at all times due to access to sensitive information
    • Maintains regular, predictable, consistent attendance and is flexible to meet the needs of the department
    • Follows all Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and Private Insurance regulations and requirements
    • Abides by all regulations, policies, procedures and standards

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required with 6 months of related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to read, write and speak at appropriate levels
    • Use of a computer and related software applications applies
    • Ability to operate related mail room equipment
    • Ability to deal courteously with internal and external customers
    • Must know how to use a 10-Key calculator
