POSITION SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data prior to being entered into the system
- Possesses a strong pharmacy knowledge base including translation of sig codes, product selection, basic knowledge of brand and generic drugs by name
- Store completed documents in appropriate locations
- Must be familiar with filling prescription orders, processing queues, completing department To-Do’s and processing prescription refills
- Outbound contact to doctors office to request new prescriptions for pharmacy patients
- Maintains a complete understanding of prescription processing including: data entry, creation of shipment schedules, verification of insurance and patient eligibility, prescriber calls for prescription refills, intake of refill Rxs from prescriber, generation and collation of processed queues
- Answers inbound patient-related calls, as needed
- Maintains a working knowledge of assigned specific pharmacy area/functions as well as cross training in other areas throughout the pharmacy as indicated by management
- Courteously assists all customers, internal and external
- Achieves stated goals and objectives as outlined by managements
- Regular and consistent attendance
- Completes any additional duties/functions that managements sees applicable
